This Notting Hill-based bedding specialist is far more interesting than their company name actually suggests. Founded in 2000, Naturalmat are the leading organic mattress makers for adults and babies, and they are proud of their green, made-in-Britain credentials. But what tickles me is the ‘fun fact’ pages on their website: Did you know, sheep prefer to see a smiling face than an unhappy one. Ahh (or should I say Baaa…). Marie Taylor, Naturalmat online marketing manager, told me a bit more about their design ethos for their mattresses, bedroom furniture and nursery toys: ‘We started Naturalmat with the aim of helping babies and children sleep safely and comfortably in the best, most natural environment possible.’
I reckon a Naturalmat mattress, made from materials like organic coir, latex and organic cotton, could very well keep your child fast asleep while Santa visits. After all, you don’t want to risk them waking up and spoiling the surprise, do you?

Just look at these hedgehogs, they’re so cute!
