SkinTyte at The Clinic, Holland Park

They Say

‘SkinTyte treatments are safe for all skin types and can be performed on any area of the body where an improvement in the appearance of sagging skin is desired. Popular areas include the face, neck, abdomen and arms. Your clinician’s treatment plan will be tailored to match your skin type and your desired results. SkinTyte is a quick, comfortable procedure, usually with no downtime.

SkinTyte uses BBL technology – the most powerful IPL device on the market – to improve the appearance of ageing skin that has lost firmness. It is a non-invasive phototherapy that uses visible and infrared light to treat skin laxity and wrinkles.

SkinTyte technology uses 3 specially designed infrared smart filters that penetrate deep into the tissue to heat dermal collagen while keeping the epidermis cool. The combination of SkinTyte’s dermal heating and epidermal cooling keeps patients comfortable during treatment. Rapid, gentle pulses of energy heat the targeted soft tissue; SkinTyte provides uniform heating for consistent and predictable results. With this advanced technology, SkinTyte initiates the body’s natural healing process, which leads to a more youthful appearance – and with no patient downtime.

SkinTyte is one of the most cost-effective ways to give yourself younger-looking skin without surgery or injectables.’

The Process

Situated on the idyllic tree-lined Holland Park Avenue, The Clinic stands proud with its glass front and pink and gold branding.

The brainchild of Tatler showcase leading oculoplastic surgeon, Mr Richard Scawn, The Clinic is also home to expert practitioner and consultant surgeon, Miss Jennifer Doyle.

Offering everything from facials, to injectables, to lasers and aesthetic surgery, The Clinic also offers dermatology, private healthcare, cutting-edge hormone treatments, self-care treatments and multiple wellbeing therapies.

I met the lovely Miss Jennifer who led me down to a treatment room to discuss my medical history and areas of concern. She explained how Skintyte works – gentle pulses of infrared-light technology heat the deeper dermal layers, triggering the body’s natural healing process and boosting new collagen production – as well as what it would feel like and the results that I could expect from the treatment.

We then relocated to a laser treatment room, where I was laid on a treatment bed and goggled up. Miss Jennifer started with a lower heat setting to gauge my sensitivity until we worked our way up to a more effective heat. Reminiscent of a hot stone massage, it was 90% relaxing, with just a smattering of mild discomfort here and there. I fully endorse this treatment for wimps like me – maximal output for minimal pain.

The Results

Improvements occur incrementally over the days and weeks following a treatment, peaking about a month in. I only had one session, which doesn’t produce as dramatic results as, say, three or four, but a month later and any puff around my chin has gone, with the whole area is noticeably tighter and more tucked!

For a fast, pain-free, lunch hour treatment, the results speak for themselves.
