Q&A: Expert Beauty Commentary from Dr Bela Horvath

If you could recommend the single most effective treatment for anyone, what would it be?

There isn’t one single answer for everyone; it depends on the needs of the patients. However, the treatments that can make the biggest difference and leave the most satisfied patients are fillers (No1) and botox (No2).

NB: every treatment needs to be tailored to the patient’s needs. For this reason I provide a free aesthetic consultation, when anyone can come in and have a consultation about their treatment plan.

I have always had quite low blood pressure; are there any long-term problems that low BP causes, and can one tackle it in any way?

As far as I know, this is better than high BP. Regular exercise, water consumption and one or two coffees throughout the day might help regulate your BP.

What is the best way to improve skin tone and give that ‘glow from within’ to dull or tired-looking winter skin?

There are several best ways, tailored to each situation. In some cases only good quality and regular skin care (with certain ingredients) can give it. In other cases, where the cushioning is missing below the skin (later ages), filler is needed to give proper skin tone.

Chemical peels and mesotherapy (use of vitamin cocktails) can also be useful. The treatment needs to be tailored to each patient’s needs.
