Friends to the rescue

‘I’m going to a LELO event with Charlie Sheen on Thursday. I get a free toy – do you want it?’

‘Will you be in London for Wimbledon?’ Tennis Player messaged me as he was boarding a flight.
‘Ooh, can you get me a couple of tickets?’ I replied, hoping my friend would come to the rescue.
‘I’ll try my best.’ A couple of days later he let me know that players only get one ticket per day to give away. ‘I’ll try to get another but it will be last minute.’

‘I’ll be back in time for Henley,’ I messaged Harry. ‘Do you want to take me?’
‘I’ll see what I can do,’ he replied. A couple of days later he got in touch, ‘I’m going to a LELO event with Charlie Sheen on Thursday. I get a free toy – do you want it?’ A slightly different offer to Henley but something I’d already been recommended.

Sam shares my predicament of leaving one job without having another lined up. ‘How are you feeling about it?’ I asked her.
‘It’s a time of packing, throwing out and cleansing,’ she said. ‘I’m slightly curious and trying not to be nervous about how it will all pan out.’ She seems a lot calmer than me anyway.

Fortunately, friends have come to the rescue, offering their spare bedrooms to me. ‘I’ve also asked my friend Rachel to ask her rich animal-owning friends if they need a pet sitter,’ Monique said. So far, Monique has secured me a one-month stay in a two-bedroom apartment in Chelsea flat sharing with Lily, a ragdoll cat, while her owners are away. The prospect of flat sharing with Lily is a lot more appealing than sharing with my previous cohabitee, Hot Danish.

‘This was in my LELO goody bag: www.lelo.com/tiani-24k,’ Harry messaged me on Thursday night.
‘I’ve given it a plug [pun intended] in this week’s blog,’ I replied.
