Each item focuses on a special manufacturing process or an age-old craft.

Welovekaoru’s tea cups are constantly on my wish list for birthday, Christmas, happy Monday’s… I want them all! There’s a growing trend to sip from individual tea cups special to you, and mine would be her Pretty Ugly tea cup and saucer (and no, that’s not because I’m Quasimodo). I love the graffiti and paint splash pattern; it makes me feel creative and happy every time I make a cuppa.

Enough about me – Kaoru Parry established her brand in 2008 as an ambassador for the British ceramic industry. Each item focuses on a special manufacturing process or an age-old craft.

‘I was deeply moved by stories of how the huge decline in manufacture had affected businesses. So I began a passionate crusade to preserve it,’ she explains.

Why buy now?

Kaoru’s Floret tea cup and saucer, £32, is perfect for spring and are beautifully handmade in bone china with the delicate flowers made by traditional flower maker artists. How authentic is that? ‘Why buy welovekaoru? If you appreciate design provenance and want to preserve the heritage of the British ceramic industry,’ she says. Here, here.
