Dewsall House is a beloved family home and established heritage site with 10 bedrooms, sleeping up to 23 guests.
Grand hotels may make you feel lavish and comfortable but there is nothing like a luxurious home from home. The family-owned and run Dewsall Court are great hosts and make their guests feel so welcome that they may wonder if they have accidentally gone to visit a long-lost aunty. Their passion for hospitality is born out of a life-long family tradition of hosting their friends and relatives.
Their natural bonhomie immediately makes you feel at ease and as if you are part of their landscape. And what a landscape it is. There are views of the Black Mountains to provide a backdrop to elegant acres of Duchy grounds. Rolling countryside everywhere you look. However, what really caught my eye was the gorgeous Wainhouse and Yurt. Further exploration unveiled a plethora of spectacular gardens, a pristine lake and stables.
Set in 15 acres of secluded private grounds, guests are free to enjoy a quiet winter stroll, enjoy an added extra of shooting, or stay wrapped in the cosiness of the roaring fire enjoying mince pies and champagne.
This grade II listed building is a perfect blend of antiquity and elegant modernity to take the stress out of Christmas, supplying every detail from the tree to the professional renowned chef, cooking all locally sourced and high quality produce.
This festive period they are offering two very special exclusive use packages, the Christmas Package is a five-night exclusive use stay and New Year is a four-night stay complete with plenty of Perrier Jouet Champagne.
If Christmas is already taken care of then there is the Furs, Fire and Ice Christmas party. This exciting Scandinavian themed party is fast filling up it’s spaces, so book soon to avoid missing out on this unique experience of torch lined walkways, fire pits and a Nordic, Scandinavian menu; cooked with thick crushed ice platters and food smoked over a birch wood BBQ. Glam up in your warmest stoles and dance the night away.
Pop-up culture takes a new twist with Dewsall’s grand supper clubs. Pop-up eateries are all the rage and Dewsall Court, for all its old-fashioned hospitality, is bang on trend. As with all pop-ups the food is dependent on the chef at the time. Supper clubs are a favourite feature of the country house, four course menus designed and cooked around seasonal ingredients, replete with the specially tailored wine list. These supper clubs combine stylish elegance with a relaxed atmosphere and sense of fun, starting at £55 a head.
Dewsall House is also the ideal setting for weddings, as guests have private use of the entire house, in which they can make their own on the special occasion, available for serviced or un-serviced exclusive use. The property is staffed when needed, fully catered when requested and entirely private if desired. The result is totally personal, just like its owners.
