Celebrate National Oyster Day without even leaving the city!
Wednesday August 5th is National Oyster Day! A time when the UK comes together to celebrate one of our greatest seafoods. The oyster, once a humble peasants food, has long been a symbol of style and elegance in London’s finest restaurants. With so many different species and styles to try, your oyster journey has only just begun.
Oysters are a big focus at Sam’s Riverside Hammersmith and you can almost pretend you’re at the beach! Offering diners a wide selection of different oyster varieties, from the classic Jersey Rock oysters and Carlingford Lough oysters (Ireland) to the more prestigious Achill oysters (Ireland).
What’s more, every Monday to Friday they have Oyster Happy Hour from 5pm – 6:30pm, with Carlingford Lough and Jersey Rock oysters priced at just £2 each! The Sam’s team love their oysters, and the bar team has terrific drink recommendations to accompany them too.
if you find yourself in Mayfair… head to the Mayfair Chippy where you can dig into three, six or twelve fresh Carlingford oysters, all served with shallot vinegar, lemon and Tabasco – pair it perfectly with a crisp glass of English Sparkling.
