Samsara Make-Up Tutorial

The Blurb:

Silvia Pinzaglia, make-up artist, and
Filip Egierszdorff the photographer
use their talents to create fashion or classic looks. The best pictures are then selected and put onto a personalised disc for you to keep.

The Process:

Silvia and I discussed the kind of look and finish that I was looking for. My main area of concern is flawless coverage due to old acne scarring and London living.

A base of Special Hydro Complex by Naturalia Sintesi was used and then a combination of Jane Iredale and Bellapierre mineral make-up blended into the skin.

Mineral make-up has the advantage that it doesn’t clog pores, feels lighter and looks more natural than traditional make-up due to it being made purely of crushed minerals.
At every stage Silvia gave a full explanation as to what she was doing, which brushes were being used and tips that I can use myself at home. For example, use the lids of your make-up pots to mix colours together to find the perfect shade and to remove excess powder.

A combination of grey and blue were used to enhance eyes and a natural gloss on my lips.
Looking back at myself in the mirror the minerals made me feel radiant and glowing.
I felt a little apprehensive stepping into the photographer’s studio but had no reason to do so; Filip quickly put me at ease, guiding me on how to pose and being extremely enthusiastic.
Silvia remained close by to provide encouragement and top-up lip gloss when necessary.

The Result:

Two weeks after the shoot I received my disc with six impressive portrait photographs, all of which have a slightly different look. I would highly recommend the experience provided by the team for any occasion or just for a  feel-good afternoon, while also gaining a set of timeless pictures.
