The Process

I touch down on a particularly muggy spring day, where I’m greeted at the door with a glass of water and seated in the corner to cool down before my appointment starts. The store is decorated with the recognisable bright white and blue aesthetic, clinical but in no way cold. It’s as sleek and stylish as the packaging of the products.
I’m taken into the consultation room where we discuss the order of the day; the dreaded dark spots that, in my mid-thirties, I’ve developed around and above my eyes. This comes from spending my 20s without any education around the use of SPFs, particularly when not on holiday in Spain.
We decide on Lumecca as it’s a safe treatment for dark spots with minimal downtime.
Though I’m here for a laser treatment, I still feel like I’m getting pampered. Even the patch test I’d received two weeks prior to this felt more like a mini facial. I lay on the heated bed with spa music playing, receiving a relaxing facial massage whilst my makeup was removed with some amazing smelling cleansers, chosen specifically for my skin type.
We repeat this process for the full treatment and, after assessing the results of the patch test, we ramp up the dosage of the laser (my skin can handle it).
The process is quick and easy. All I feel, even at that high level, is a quick flash of heat on my skin, with no noticeable side effects in the coming hours and days. I’m instructed to avoid saunas and excessive exercise, and in this heat, I have no scruples in doing so.
The Results
That evening, I can see the dark spots change in real time. After Lumecca, they are meant to darken and then slowly fade, which is exactly what they do. I may need to come back for one or two more treatments to tackle the larger areas, but the difference after one treatment is still noticeably impressive.
What’s more, I could have spent all day in the Organic Pharmacy. They have so much to offer, with a range of experiences from massages to Red Light beds to overall health checks.
