My obsession with fake tan is quite a serious one. More of an addiction really. I take the saying ‘life is better with a tan’ to the extreme and just don’t feel myself unless my skin is gloriously bronzed. So I was never going to turn down the chance to be spray tanned by James Harknett – “The Tom Ford of Tanning”. Spray tanning the likes of David Gandy and Emma Willis, I had no doubt that I was going to be in the most capable hands.
The process
I arrived at the Away Spa at the W Hotel London in Piccadilly Circus. Greeted by James, a friendly face you instantly warm to. We went over the desired look and he took me through the Fake Bake products he was going to use before being taken into the room and left to undress. The prospect of being seen naked by a man who wasn’t a partner never even crossed my mind until afterwards, which only shows how comfortable I was made by James. 15 minutes later, I was dressed and making my way home with strict instructions not to get wet and subsequently rub the tan off.
The results
The next day I washed off my tan and was left with an incredible shade of golden brown – making me feel confident. Considering I’m always wearing fake tan, my latest didn’t go unnoticed. I received a compliment to say I was ‘glowing even more than usual’. I will most certainly be returning to see James before my next big event.
