Strip wax treatment

Hollywood at Strip

The Blurb:

Strip offers a choice of three locations – Soho, Notting Hill and Chelsea; the latter being the flagship store and all containing a lingerie boutique. Premium Lycon wax is used during the waxing treatments to prevent hair breakages, ingrown hairs, redness and the associated painful sting. It can also remove hairs as short as one millimetre.

The Process:

While waiting a few minutes for my appointment I was able to peruse the tempting lingerie – labels include Elle Macpherson, Calvin Klein and Cosabella.

My therapist, Hayley, led me to the chocolate room. Each treatment room is decorated to represent the different types of wax to choose from.

I was initially a little apprehensive as had opted for the Hollywood (everything is removed from the bikini area) for the first time; I usually have a Brazilian wax (a small strip or triangle is left) at another salon.

An essential oil was applied to the area; then the hot chocolate hazelnut wax applied and left for a few moments before being peeled away. It was actually less painful than previous intimate waxes and I was able to watch TV as a distraction, although at 2.30pm on a weekday all I could find to watch was The Vanessa Show.

The therapist was extremely thorough and reassuring throughout the treatment which lasted approximately 35 minutes.

The Result:

The slight redness had disappeared within the hour and no irritating residue was left. I would definitely recommend Strip, particularly for those who have had a previous bad waxing experience or who are worried about the possible pain/discomfort. I will be returning in a month’s time and may experiment with the new olive oil wax flavour…

The Hollywood wax treatment is £52.
