The Process
Dan chatted to me about my hair concerns – fluff, frizz and dryness since you ask – and talked me through the process. He began with a detoxifying shampoo to prime the hair to absorb the treatment and was especially careful not to rub my tangle-prone locks whilst washing, avoiding combing it until it was dried.
Once washed and dried, the product is applied all over and combed through to ensure even distribution. This was left on for 20 minutes before being blow-dried section by section before being hot-ironed to activate and seal the product deeper. I was then sent on my merry way to wash the product out in 24-48 hours…
I was plied with champagne throughout, whilst the whole process only took an hour or so. The brand new salon – the third in the Gusto group – is bright, airy and modern. Buttery camel leather seats contrast with bare plaster walls and Emin-style neon wall signs, adding a sense of space and avant-garde brutalism.
The Results
I waited the full 48 hours before washing – you must also be careful in the rain/the bath – but the wait was worth it… My ordinarily fluffy, static, frizzy hair is on its best behaviour, it still has volume but with a mirror-like shine.
