We’ve discovered a unique retreat for mums & daughters in Berkshire

Self-care is not selfish. This is the ethos behind re:treat – an exciting new wellness retreat offering, including one-of-a-kind weekends away for parents and their children or teens. From a luxurious venue in West Berkshire with unspoiled views of the Ridgeway, a team of specialists have put together a programme that ensures you leave feeling recharged and restored.

Workouts for all levels and yoga or Pilates – are combined with creativity – think pottery, art or photography. Depending on the age of guests, there are also workshops in everything from survival skills to fermentation, and from foraging to wood whittling. Relaxation is ensured through massages or facials, countryside walks and mindfulness. Serious nourishment is a high priority, with home-cooked and delicious vegetarian food. And the little touches really matter to the re:treat team, including guests’ goodie bags featuring local and eco goodies, robes and stunning table settings to match the meals.

Founder, Rachel Jones, designed the approach in collaboration with her 12-year-old daughter. Having looked fruitlessly for retreats (or even spa days!) suitable for mums and daughters, the pair decided there was a market out there for retreats that are built around taking time away from the frantic pace of daily life to enjoy quality time and experiences together. There are options for tweens and teens, younger children, boys-only, and adults.

Rachel says: “We all need to stop at times and replenish our stores of mental, emotional, and physical energy. Whatever self-care looks like to you, seek it out. It might be as small as five minutes to breathe deeply, an hour to join a Pilates class, a day to visit a spa, or a weekend away. Take time out to escape from the pressures of daily life to nurture both body and mind – and don’t feel guilty!”
