New Light Summer Menu at Prezzo

Although the weather is still a little schizophrenic, the whispers of summer’s approach are harder to ignore by the day, with bursts of heat and sun growing in length and brilliance. Prezzo has just released the perfect complement to this heavier, more Mediterranean weather, in its new summer menu. Salad options have been expanded along seafood lines, with a new Salmon Nicoise alongside Crab Cakes with cantaloupe, tomatoes, cucumber and mixed leaves both added to the menu.

Prezzo’s signature pizzas have also been given a warm-weather update, with new flatbread, mozzarella-less pizza bases introduced; toppings have more than a hint of salad about them too and include a classic Caprese with buffalo mozzarella, a Goat’s Cheese with courgette, beetroot, peppers, baby spinach and caramelised balsamic onions, and the Prosciutto and Asparagus, with grana padano and rocket and finished with a lemon and mustard dressing.

Their wine menu is not to be sneezed at either. We sampled a very fine Sicilian Viognier, a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and Argentinian Malbec. Reasonably priced, decent, easy to drink wines are the perfect accompaniment to the summer menu.

Sweet-toothed customers have not been deserted, with a light, crunchy Lemon Posset with fresh berries also added to the line-up. As for drinks, the inductees to the wine list will leave no one disappointed, with everything from a zesty Soave and fruity Viognier through to a dry, delicate Gavi and liquorice-touched Malbec taking their rightful places.

These fresh options can be enjoyed throughout the summer at Prezzo’s Kensington branch, where you can also take advantage of the newly updated set lunch menu to enjoy some of your favourite dishes in the sun for a bargain £9.99 for two courses.
