To celebrate National Cheesecake Day on 30th July, London’s beloved Basque cheesecake brand, La Maritxu, is launching an exclusive, limited-edition Popcorn Cheesecake, available for one day only.
Combining the savoury, buttery flavours of freshly popped popcorn with the rich, creamy indulgence of La Maritxu’s signature Basque cheesecake, the new flavour offers a playful twist on the brand’s classic recipe. A first of its kind, the cheesecake stays true to the traditional Basque baking method, creating a caramelised exterior and irresistibly creamy centre.
Founded in 2021 by husband-and-wife team Ignacio and Lucia, La Maritxu has become one of London’s most loved destinations for authentic Basque cheesecake, building a loyal following across the capital. Following La Maritxu’s recent collaboration with Bertotti to create a Basque cheesecake ice cream, the limited-edition Popcorn Basque Cheesecake continues the brand’s commitment to innovation and creativity.
The special flavour will be available in medium size for £17. With only 200 special cheesecakes being made for National Cheesecake Day, the Popcorn Cheesecake is expected to sell out quickly. Pre-orders open three weeks before National Cheesecake Day, from 9th July, and all cheesecakes must be reserved in advance through La Maritxu’s website.
Customers will be able to collect their pre-orders on 30th July, from any of La Maritxu’s London locations, including Kingly Court, Connaught Village, Greenwich, and the brand’s newest store at Coal Drops Yard.
