For those not able to get to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year, InterContinental London Westminster has created an Edible Garden-themed afternoon tea, celebrating 101 years of this quintessentially English seasonal tradition.
Partnering with Laurent-Perrier Champagne, and mirroring the elegance of Laurent-Perrier’s layered Chelsea garden, the tea includes themed pastries such as a lemon box hedge – a citrus mousse sprayed in chocolate and topped with a white chocolate ladybird – and strawberry and white chocolate champagne bubble, all served on edible ‘soil’ and presented under a greenhouse-style cloche.
There are also of course a range of savoury delicacies, from a whipped avocado shot with raw vegetables to miniature eggs Benedict, as well as a lavender-infused take on the classic scone.
Five handcrafted flower teas have been specially paired with the menu, and with unlimited Laurent-Perrier Champagne provided along with the option of edible flower-themed gin cocktails, this unique afternoon tea provides the perfect excuse to celebrate the British summer.
