Keeping Your Cool

Kate Middleton was the picture of cool (in every sense) as she emerged from St Mary’s wearing a cornflower blue Jenny Packham dress, with the baby prince in her arms. Back in the real world, it’s not so easy to maintain composure when you’re running around London, jumping onto a sweaty tube. Here’s our top picks to keep you as cool as Kate.

Denim is here in a big way, but if you’re not a fan of blue jeans or the daring denim double, why not go for a different take with this white embroidered pair from Zara. The high contrast black embroidery with the piping detail on the pockets gives the pair an on-trend tribal effect. Wear with a sheer loose-fit blouse to dress them up or pop on your wellies and a white vest top to hit the festivals.

These blue and white cotton dresses with squared-off necklines and flared skirts are fantastic because they are totally wearable. Perfect with pumps for staying cool and comfortable during the day, and easily dressed up with heels and accessories at night. Dorothy Perkins’ nautical stripes are fun and flirty, while Marc by Marc Jacobs’ elegant polkadots piece ties in with the royal look (and is also currently 50 per cent off at farfetch.com!)

For something a little more daring, these short-skirted yellows from sunflower to neon really stand out from the crowd. Topshop’s broidery bodice sundress is cute with sandals, while teaming J.Crew’s bold embroidered mini skirt with a plain grey t-shirt will really make it pop.
