Chelsea’s 606 Club Presents Jazz on the Lawn at Fulham Palace; 1st & 2nd August; from £23
Since its inception in 2008, residents of West London and beyond have gathered on the lawns of Fulham Palace to listen to the finest jazz and soul musicians presented by Chelsea’s renowned live music venue, the 606 Club.
Now an established event on the summer live music calendar, this popular collaboration between Fulham Palace and the 606 continues this year with the following artists:
THE WONDER OF STEVIE FT NOEL MCCALLA & DEREK NASH – FRIDAY 1ST AUGUST
Two of the UK’s finest musicians, saxophonist Derek Nash and singer Noel McCalla and their band come together to celebrate the music of one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time, Stevie Wonder. An award-winning player, Derek Nash is perhaps best known as one of the featured saxophonists with the Jools Holland Band and leader of the enormously successful “Sax Appeal”. Noel McCalla first came to prominence in the mid 80’s with the seminal Jazz/funk band Morrissey/Mullen, subsequently joining the iconic Manfred Mann’s ‘Earth Band’ with whom he toured and performed for almost 20 years. This is a uniquely powerful, feel-good show!
LIANE CARROLL TRIO – SATURDAY 2ND AUGUST
The first artist ever to win two BBC Jazz Awards in the same year, for Best Vocalist and Best of Jazz, Liane Carroll is a dynamic vocalist and pianist whose amazing talent has been captivating audiences around the world. Recognised as one of the finest singer/pianists on the scene, she’s been featured at Glastonbury and worked with the likes of Gerry Rafferty, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Paul McCartney.
