Japan House London is inviting families and craft enthusiasts to drop in for a series of free, hands-on workshops this summer.
Whether you’re folding paper into delicate origami or mastering the art of furoshiki – the traditional Japanese wrapping technique – there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

What to Expect:
•Furoshiki: Discover the beauty of Japan’s wrapping culture! Learn four basic techniques using furoshiki (square cloth) and tenugui (rectangular cloth) to wrap gifts, treasures, or everyday items.
•Origami (various designs): Unfold the art of paper folding! Create classic designs like the orizuru (crane), kabuto (helmet), iris, and even jumping frogs.
•Origami (Tonton Sumo): Step into the ring with Tonton Sumo – a playful twist on Japan’s national sport! Craft your own paper sumo wrestler and challenge friends to a mini tournament on a tiny rikishi (wrestler) ring.
