An Overview Of London’s PL Clubs For The 2022-23 Season

It appears as though you can’t go one round of fixtures in the Premier League without a London derby this season. In total, seven London-based clubs are competing in the English top-flight this term, and all will have different goals when it comes to what they are looking to achieve.

A number of interesting Premier League betting offers are available to maximize wagers on the London teams this term, but what are the goals for all teams based in the capital?

Arsenal

Mikel Arteta has spent big over the summer months, as he looks to get Arsenal back into the Champions League. Many are already considering the Gunners as potential dark horses to challenge for the league title this season, as they are the only team to have won all four of their opening fixtures. However, a place in the top four remains the main target for the Gunners.

Brentford

Brentford’s second season in the Premier League title was seen by many experts as a potential banana skin. After losing Christian Eriksen, many expected Thomas Frank’s side to struggle. However, a relatively strong start to the new campaign has eased those fears. Their standout success to this point was a 4-0 home success against Manchester United, but they will need to avoid a mid-season blip as they did last term.

Chelsea

It has been a busy summer of transition at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues spending big to bring in Kalidou Koulibaly, Raheem Sterling and Marc Cucurella. Thomas Tuchel may still be in the market for a new striker after allowing Romelu Lukaku to leave the club, which could restrict them from mounting a title challenge. Instead, a finish in the top four remains the target for the Blues this term.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace enjoyed a fine first season under Patrick Vieira, which included a run to the semi-finals of the FA Cup. However, building on their league finish last term will be their main target. The Eagles finished the 2021-22 campaign in 12th, and a young and hungry Palace team this term look more than capable of challenging for a top ten finish.

Fulham

Fulham returned to the Premier League this term for the first time after suffering relegation in the 2020-21 campaign. It was an excellent promotion-winning campaign last term, and once again Aleksandar Mitrovic could hold the key for their chances of excelling. The Serbian has already netted on four occasions this term, and the added quality of new additions Joao Palhinha and Issa Diop ensure that they look to be in a commanding position to stave off the threat of relegation.

Tottenham Hotspur

Many consider Tottenham Hotspur to be one of the dark horses to challenge for the league title this term. Antonio Conte has begun his first full season in charge of Spurs in strong fashion, as they are unbeaten in four league fixtures. Harry Kane has already netted on four occasions, while the signings of Richarlison and Yves Bissouma add depth that Tottenham have been missing for a number of years. A trophy will be the biggest goal for Spurs to achieve this term.

West Ham United

It wasn’t the start to the season that West Ham United would have been hoping for, as they didn’t register their first goal or win until the fourth matchday. However, the Hammers still look to be an improving side under David Moyes, and the added quality brought in with the signings of Gianluca Scamacca, Thilo Kehrer and Maxwell Cornet certainly looks to put them in a strong position to challenge for a European finish once again this term.
