Egypt Holidays

Visit Egypt for architecture, archaeology and a whole lot more

Sponsored post:

If you’re looking for a bit of wonder and mystery on your next travel destination then why not head to the land which gave birth to the first great civilisation… Egypt holidays offer two of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, plus the world’s longest river, the Nile, and those famous pyramids aren’t the only archaeological highlights: Pharaonic nations, ancient Greeks, Romans, Christians and Arab dynasties have all played their part in building Egypt’s incredible architectural wealth.

Egypt’s capital, the frenetic city of Cairo whirrs around a medieval core and is known as the ‘City of a Thousand Minarets’. Hit the museum to see priceless Egyptian antiquities and head west to Giza’s legendary pyramids. The cosmopolitan city also boasts plenty of buzzy bars and restaurants. Upriver, Luxor is built around the 4,000-year-old site of Thebes (the birthplace of the Hercules and Dionysos) and there are more wow-inducing sights at Aswan, further south.

So what should be on the must-see list? As well as the aforementioned, I’d probably include a dip in Cleopatra’s Bath at the Oasis of Siwa; go quad biking in the desert and head to the gorgeous Red Sea to check out what lives among its corals.

What’s more, Egypt is a good year-round destination. Rainfall is rare and even in the hot and humid summer months, a holiday is calmed by a cool sea breeze in the coastal cities.
