A recent study compared the highest-rated casino in each of Europe’s ten most-visited cities. St Giles recorded 4.8 out of 5 on Google Reviews, ahead of Club Circus Paris (4.5) and Casino Baden near Vienna (4.4).
The headline sounds like a formal coronation. The method, however, was narrower and, arguably, more interesting: it measured how ordinary guests rated each experience rather than inspecting every casino in Europe.
How London Topped the Rankings
The research paired tourism data with Google review scores, then selected the highest-rated casino in each of the ten cities.
Grosvenor St Giles finished three-tenths of a point clear of Paris. Madrid’s Casino Gran Vía I Poker Room came fourth on 4.2, followed by Holland Casino Amsterdam on 4.1.
Review sites tend to reward the unglamorous parts of hospitality. A smooth arrival at 1 am can linger longer in the memory than a gilded ceiling, especially in a district where guests have already dealt with queues for dinner and theatre. This is a city-break result shaped by the night’s final hour.
In this sample, St Giles is the best casino in Europe. The ranking cannot settle arguments over architecture or the range of games, and Google’s scores move as fresh reviews arrive. A 4.8 is still a striking mark for a London casino dealing nightly with West End crowds and a wide mix of expectations.
Why St Giles Wins on Convenience
St Giles is open 24 hours, although its official listing gives live gaming hours of noon until 6 am. Guests can play roulette in live or electronic form. Yet the venue’s strongest asset begins outside the building. A show can finish, dinner can run late, and the casino still fits into the evening without becoming a separate expedition.
That very instinct surfaces online. Coverage of new online casinos may begin with novelty, but the practical desire is convenience, which matters whether the entrance sits on Tottenham Court Road or behind a phone screen.
As a West End casino, St Giles fits the rhythm of local nightlife, where plans are often revised on the pavement, and proximity can matter more than ceremony.
Paris and Vienna Made Different Cases
Club Circus Paris has 31 gaming tables in the 16th arrondissement, close to Parc des Princes and Roland-Garros. The 4.5-rated venue also has a restaurant and bar. Casino Baden presents a grander picture: its listed building in the spa town south of Vienna combines gaming with dining and congress facilities.
A photograph might give Baden the advantage, but a public review score records something less theatrical: whether the visit worked on the night, from the welcome onward.
London’s winner is relatively understated beside its Austrian rival, as the result reads like a reward for getting the basics right.
The Limits of the Study Rankings
The field was fixed before any review score was compared. The study began with Europe’s ten most-visited cities, so famous gaming centres outside that group were never in contention. St Giles’s 4.8 captures one moment among leading European casino destinations; it cannot serve as a permanent league table for the whole continent.
London received 20.9 million international visits in 2024, according to the Greater London Authority’s State of London 2026 report. A 4.8 rating in a city handling that many visitors is hard to dismiss, particularly when the same room must work for first-time tourists and London regulars.
London Wins Between the Main Events
London nights rarely stick to the booking that went into the calendar first. Often, the best part is the place found afterwards, close enough to try and easy enough to leave when the last Tube gets closer.
St Giles has turned that modest advantage into a 4.8 rating and a European headline. Paris can offer sporting buzz, and Baden can supply old-world grandeur. London’s answer is simpler: the night already has momentum, and the casino is right there when plans take another turn.
