'There’s a list of seriously wealthy eligible bachelors aged 25 to 45 that a lot of women in the area have'

Hot Danish and I had a bet about whether or not Natasha would get it on with Jacques, whom HD had originally introduced her to. Natasha seems to be attracted to older, complicated men and Jacques had invited Natasha to stay with him for the weekend. ‘Of course they’ll get it on if she’s staying with him,’ was HD’s verdict. I was half-inclined to agree with him due to the fact that Natasha had recently been turned on by the self-help book Mars And Venus In The Bedroom and had been celibate for most of the past year. If they did get it on, I was to give HD an hour’s massage; if they didn’t I’d asked to do something that’s mentioned in Khia’s My Neck, My Back song. HD won, but I still managed to get to do that thing plus enjoy an hour’s massage before the Tia & Anda body oil ran out.

Last weekend Natasha and I went to join HD at a Fulham house party after dinner and cocktails at Mersault. We weren’t sure if we had arrived at the right party: the tipsy Russian hostess struggled with my accent and HD was nowhere to be seen. HD finally arrived with a friend and half-jokingly tried to set Natasha up with someone because he wanted me to come back to his rather than see me off with Natasha. Natasha wasn’t interested and we soon left, without HD. Afterwards, the Russian hostess suggested HD walk her polo-playing friend home as they lived close to each other. ‘Russian girls know how to look out for each other,’ Natasha said, following the update from HD.
‘Some girls don’t waste time either. A couple of girls I met were asking me about marriage and that was after I said I met HD on New Year’s Eve, for God’s sake.’

HD laughed when I remarked that some women seem so dead-set on marriage it seemed a bit calculating. ‘One of my friends said that there’s a list of seriously wealthy eligible bachelors aged 25 to 45 that a lot of women in the area have. One guy made a fortune when he sold his dotcom business so he threw a party to make sure he was added to that list,’ he told me. I suppose the time to worry is when you stop being talked about…
