A host of TV and music talent joined forces with British swimming legends at The Park Club, Acton, in a bid to inspire the next generation into the pool and raise money for charity. Among the famous faces at the Swimstock festival was former Olympic champion Duncan Goodhew, silver medallist Sharron Davies, bronze medallist Steve Parry and four-time world champion Karen Pickering.
Chart-topping band The Feeling and Britain’s most exciting new soprano Laura Wright provided the entertainment alongside other fabulous musicians. Other highlights included a Blooming Great Zorbing Tea Party – where celebrities including star of the hit HBO series The Wire Dominic West, documentary maker Louis Theroux, and TV presenter Penny Smith battled to stay on their feet, while having tea on the water in a giant see-through ball.
They were taking the plunge in support of Marie Curie’s Blooming Great Tea Party campaign, which asks people to host a tea party in aid of the charity during the summer.
