This June the Maggie’s Enclosure at the internationally renowned Aegon Championships at The Queen’s Club was a clear winner. The team behind the 1980s-inspired Chelsea nightclub created the ultimate retro player’s lounge complete with astro-turf, oversized wooden tennis rackets, ball-shaped bean bags, Rubik’s cube tables and vintage TVs. Guests entering the quirky space where handed complimentary Maggie’s ’80s visors and plied with enough Moet Champagne and Asahi beer to last them nicely ’til game, set and match. Thursday evening then saw a few cheeky members sneak back into the enclosure after end of play, where they had a rocking ’80s party till dark. Clearly the place to be at this years tournament – rumour has it Murray, even popped into the enclosure on a few of the days… Maybe it’s because it shared its name with his pet dog, Maggie!
