On Tuesday 17 September, award winning, luxury rug designer Luke Irwin, who specialises in the design and creation of bespoke rugs, celebrated the launch of his new Tarantella collection of hand-knotted rug designs at his showroom on Pimlico Road with family and friends.
Guests from the worlds of art, design and society were treated to a celebration of Italy with Venetian Spritz and Negroni Sbagliato cocktails while traditional artisan pizza and antipasti were served by London-based food truck Well Kneaded Wagon. Guests were each given a beautifully curated Tarantella book, featuring a collection of essays by some of the UK’s most noted writers, who also attended, that pay homage to Italian everyday culture, edited by Clive Aslet.
The collection, inspired by a rare manuscript dating back to 1876, celebrates Italian regional peasant textile design and the traditional Neapolitan folk dance of the same name.
