We probably had one too many cakes (but they were mini) washed down with champagne at the re-opening party of the Old Brompton Road branch of The Hummingbird Bakery. Our new assistant editor Sarah successfully predicted that the strawberry daiquiri was the top choice. Chocolate brandy came a close second. Talk revolved around New Year’s resolutions – and thanks to The Hummingbird we’ve broken ours (what’s the point of depriving yourself of treats in January anyway).
