Hector Sandoval exhibition ‘Syncretism’ at Debut Contemporary

Debut Contemporary hosted a sparkling private view for visiting visual artist Hector Sandoval’s new show ‘Syncretism’. Hector is originally from Mexico City and has a passion for colour and balance, technique and creativity. His work has assertiveness and reflects figures in enigmatic ways, inspired primarily by his Mexican heritage. Taking inspiration from the traditional and ancient cultures of Mexico, he merges colour and a multicultural language, creating expressions through colourful masks, large round eyes, luscious mouths and native-like silhouettes.

In his painting, Hector Sandoval finds passion for colour and balance, superposition of layers and transparencies, communicating this ‘Syncretism’ that persists in the Mexican spirit, in a continuous duality. He has been selected as a prominent Mexican artist for the Dual Year of Mexico–UK and the event was attended by the Mexican embassy officials and major Mexican journalists and collectors.
