What They Say
Sofwave is an FDA-approved ultrasound technology designed to lift, tighten and refresh the face and neck by stimulating the skin’s own collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production.
Sofwave is increasingly being chosen by patients looking for a more defined jawline, reduced jowling, lifted brows and cheeks, and a firmer looking neck – all without needles, surgery or recovery time.
Unlike injectables or more aggressive procedures, Sofwave works at a precise depth within the mid-dermis to deliver a subtle yet noticeable lift, making it ideal for those wanting to look refreshed rather than “done”.
- Non-invasive, zero to minimal downtime — return to normal activities immediately
- Visible tightening and lifting that continues to improve over the following weeks
- A single 30–45 minute treatment
- Natural-looking results that enhance facial structure and skin quality
The Process
I was met by my therapist, the lovely Roxanne, in a serene parquet-floored and marble-tabled waiting room. The treatment room was a short, wood-panelled corridor away, and by contrast, appropriately sterile, clinical and bright.
Roxanne slathered on topical lidocaine numbing cream whilst explaining that Sofwave had recently updated their protocol, such that the intensity of each zap was much lower, and the same area was passed over twice.
The biggest downside to Sofwave previously had been that it wasn’t comfortable, bursting into tears halfway through and needing to stop kind of not comfortable! So I’d arrived fully expecting to grit my teeth, clench my fists and try not to scream.
Braced for this, I lay back and thought of Britain, to be met, somewhat anticlimactically, with little more than mild, warm zaps. The experience was night and day compared with the two times I’d had Sofwave before.
In addition to far gentler zaps, No Filter Clinic have a cryotherapy wand, which Roxanne gave me to hold and direct a blast of icy cold air at my face as she treated it. This gives a control freak like me a sense of autonomy and collaboration, it’s also a great distraction as the cold air is a much louder sensation than the treatment.
A rare benefit of Sofwave is absolutely zero downtime, so after about an hour to treat the whole face and neck, I popped across the street to grab lunch in Whole Foods, with no redness, pain or visible evidence I’d had anything done at all.
The Results
I waited a full two months to write this, as I know from experience this is how long it takes to see the Sofwave difference.
I’d been slightly sceptical that the new and pretty much pain-free protocol could achieve the same results as the old regime. I’d been led to believe that the more intense the setting, the more effective the treatment. But if anything, the results were even more noticeable this time. I’d noticed a slight but definite onset of crepeyness around the jowls in the past couple of years. Fast forward two months and these are nowhere to be seen!
There are few beauty treatments I review that I advise my friends to go for as fully paying customers, Sofwave however is one. I’ve sent friends off to have it done time and time again. If you want the closest thing to a facelift without going under the knife, pop into No Filter in your lunch break, and emerge metamorphosised, like a butterfly from its jowly cocoon but two short months later.
