Profhilo with Dr Sangita at Young LDN

What They Say

Over the past 10 years, Dr Sangita Singh has been specialising in Aesthetic Medicine. She was one of the first doctors to complete the PGDip in Aesthetic Medicine from Barts and The Royal London Hospital. She is passionate about non-surgical facial and skin rejuvenation and uses a variety of modalities, including botulinum toxin and dermal fillers. This allows her to achieve natural-looking results that leave patients her looking (and more importantly) feeling better.

The Process

Young LDN is based in the heart of the fashionable Westbourne Grove, nestled amongst a cluster of designer shops and cafes. With neon lights against a backdrop of jungle greenery, the millennial-pleasing decor doesn’t immediately scream up-market skin clinic, but if that puts you off in any way, I’d urge you to take a second look.

There has been a huge increase in younger people getting tweakments of late, which can be expensive. You’ll want to choose somewhere that will recommend the right treatments at the right time, and educate you properly about the risks as well as the rewards. Young LDN does exactly this, offering an expertly picked selection of treatments aimed at  (but not limited to) slightly younger customers, recommending that no one jumps in and gets the full works all at once.

Dr Sangita was a pleasure to talk to. I could have stayed there all day as she freely imparted all kinds of skincare advice. She’s brutally honest in such a helpful way and I really trusted that she had my skin’s best interests at heart.

After assessing my skin’s needs (I was tired and stressed from a couple of hectic months at work) we decided upon Profhilo, a form of hyaluronic acid that can be injected into the face, neck and hands. The injections start as tiny bumps in the skin, but over the next 24 hours they spread out (instead of staying put, as fillers do) to hydrate, plump and rejuvenate.

Profhilo is a quick process that takes a few minutes at most. There are 5 injection points on each side of the face, and no painkillers are used, so though there is mild discomfort (particularly when injecting around the mouth) it was over in a matter of minutes. As Id already tried Profhilo once before, I only needed one session, but they do recommend that you start with two sessions, a few weeks apart.

The Results

Sometimes, you can choose a treatment and leave wishing that you’d gone with more (I always leave the nail salon wishing I’d gotten that pedicure as well!), but because of the ethos of Young LDN and the way that Dr Sangita explained things to me, I left feeling refreshed, like I’d had exactly what my skin needed – no more, no less. That’s the feeling we’re paying for.

In the following weeks, my skin was looking and feeling revived, so much so that I barely needed to apply foundation! Profhilo also impacts our skin health long term, so I’m all set for the winter.

The Details

Two sessions of Profhilo are £800
