MILK Beauty nails facial
'When you’re pumping such potent ingredients deep into the skin it’s pretty tough not to see results'

The Blurb:

MILK Beauty is a mobile beauty salon: boasting a broad range of treatments and therapists, they bring cutting-edge treatments direct to your home at a time that suits.

The Environ anti-ageing facial is suitable for anyone looking for an intense treatment to combat fine lines, sun damage and premature ageing. Using galvanic currents, this facial delivers active ingredients deep into the lower layers of the skin.

MILK’s manicure includes a file, gentle buff, cuticle work, moisturiser and cuticle oil application before varnishing with either their non-toxic Priti NYC Polish or OPI Gel Varnish.

The Process:

My therapist arrived with a pop-up massage table, portable music player and all the equipment for the manicure and facial. We started with the manicure so the nails could dry during the facial.

Unfortunately, the therapist said the OPI Gel wasn’t great, and wouldn’t adhere to nails with dry, peeling or flaking spots. I had one nail which she said it wouldn’t work on, so we had to go with the Priti NYC Polish. There weren’t a huge range of colours, but we settled on a pastel pink. The manicure process was fairly straightforward, and the result was okay but—as is often the way with pale nails—the finish was a little stripy.

The facial was great. Beginning with a deep cleanse, followed by an exfoliating clay masque, galvanic delivery of vitamin A and vitamin C serums, and a soothing, hydrating masque, it finished with a relaxing hand and arm massage.

There was a heated blanket on the bed; the whole procedure was very calming and my skin was left plump and glowing. After the cleanse and exfoliation, I was given a galvanic ‘wand’ to hold, while a gentle electric current was run over my face through a mask. This current, known as galvanism, works by helping active substances penetrate deep into the subcutaneous tissues, where they act on ineffective circulation to bring about an improvement in the vascular and lymphatic interchange.

Environ products are amazing; I’ve never met a derm who doesn’t rave about them. Galvanic current facials are also amazing, and when you’re pumping such potent yet gentle ingredients deep into the skin it’s pretty tough not to see results.

The Result:

While the manicure wasn’t anything to write home about, the facial was brilliant. I was glowing for several days and found the whole experience relaxing.
