Lampton Leisure, the leisure provider for the London Borough of Hounslow, is working to upskill existing team members and offer employment opportunities to the local community by offering funded swim teacher, lifeguarding and pool plant operation training. The training will not only provide a journey to a job for local residents but will also ensure the continued provision of high-quality swimming in the Borough.
Lampton Leisure offers swimming assistant and swim teacher courses, lifeguard qualifications, First Aid at Work training and pool plant training. The courses take place at Hanworth Air Parks, with the support of the amazing swimming teachers and swim school participants based there. All new and trainee teachers are mentored throughout their training and are offered ongoing CPD training and development, meaning these courses really are the beginning of a career in swimming.

First Aid at Work Qualification and Automated External Defibrillation Qualification

Swim England Qualification Teaching Level 1 and Level 2

The flexible courses are running on selected dates throughout 2023 and the swim teacher training courses are particularly flexible, running over holidays, weekends and weekdays to ensure that they are accessible to all. The courses take as little as three days for lifeguard training and eight days for a swimming teacher. There are options for the swimming teacher courses to be taken as blended learning, allowing participants to study the course theory at home, attending the centre for theory delivery and practical training.
