The Process
I met the lovely Casey and we discussed the ideal tone to go for – deciding on a slightly creamier light blonde. But first, she removed my few remaining and grown-out extensions in order to tone to match my new colour, and then re-attach once my own hair was done.
She set to work mixing up very low-strength peroxide, alongside the all-important Olaplex. My roots were highlighted, the foils were removed and more Olaplex brushed through, before finally toning all over and skimming the split ends off.
The colour looked great – it came out darker than I’d envisaged, but matched my naturally blonde eyebrows exactly! After drying my hair, Casey refitted my extensions – toned to match – strategically placing them where I needed the most volume.
The extensions were trimmed to blend in, and my hair was styled into natural-looking beachy waves to finish.
The Results
Love the colour, and blow-dry. My only pet peeve is brushing Olaplex (or anything) through wet – post-bleach and shampoo – hair before it’s been conditioned. It always, always causes breakage, no matter how gentle the stylist is, and whether they use a Tangle Teaser or not.
That aside, I absolutely loved the result, and Casey couldn’t have been nicer!
