The Blurb:
Spa NK’s latest treatment has been developed by Kristy Goodger, who has years of experience studying and practising Chinese medicine. Hence, the Herbology Facial is based on a combination of herbal medicine, Oriental physiology and pathology. It is specifically designed to combat the effects of seasonal, lifestyle and hormonal change on our skin and the natural ingredients – botanical, mineral and marine – are ethically sourced, tested and of the highest quality.
The Process:
I suffer from dry skin and the sudden appearance of the sun has led to me piling on more and more moisturiser every day, but to little avail – that dry patch on my nose just wouldn’t budge. Maria, the beautician, let me know that my skin needed lots of nourishing, so my face was cleansed and deep cleaned before the impurities were extracted and cold stones were applied to boost circulation. My face was soothed, plumped and rehydrated by a procession of delicious-smelling products, including Purify and Soothe Facial Cleanser, which is full of omegas, aloe vera and fatty acids (I know it sounds disgusting, but it certainly did the trick) and a Biodynamic Facial Souffle which includes, in the long list of ingredients, marine collagen (I didn’t dare ask where that comes from). And as if that wasn’t enough pampering, I received a splendid foot massage while my face mask was left to work its magic.
The Result:
‘Wow, you look so fresh-faced. Have you stopped drinking?’, was the first comment that I received after the facial. I left feeling as though I had found facial equilibrium and was ready to tackle anything that the British weather could throw at me.
