Dr Barbara Kubicka at Clinicbe, Knightsbridge

The Blurb

Tucked away on a quiet residential street behind Cadogan Square is Clinicbe: perfectly located just moments from Sloane Square and the King’s Road, yet utterly discreet (there’s no sign on the door — it could easily be a friend’s house).

Founded by Dr Barbara Kubicka in 2013, Clinicbe is known for its holistic approach to aesthetics. Dr Barbara is a well-established figure in the world of wellness and beauty, with multiple awards, nominations, and — more recently — her own skincare brand. One of her standout products is the much-loved multi-collagen powder (£28 per pouch), which contains types 1, 2, 3, 5, and 10 of hydrolysed peptides. It’s completely tasteless, meaning you can mix it effortlessly into any drink. I tried mine with a mango and passion fruit smoothie — delicious!

The clinic’s reception is cosy and feminine, with forest-themed wallpaper giving the space a calm, natural vibe. Dr Barbara’s products are displayed for sampling, and you’re welcome to help yourself to tea or coffee. I’m greeted by a beautiful little dog who loyally follows Dr Barbara around — very much part of the team. The warm, homely feel of the clinic reflects Dr Barbara’s kind and unassuming nature. In the bathroom, handwritten reviews and thank-you notes from clients are displayed behind a picture frame. One simply reads: “Dr Barbara has given me my confidence back.”

Something I notice straight away is how healthy, natural, and glowing the staff look — a testament to the clinic’s ethos. I’ve been told that their approach, which focuses on subtle, full-face treatments rather than targeting just one area, is a perfect fit for what brings me here: I’m getting married!

The Consultation

That’s right — I’m getting married. And after months of juggling work, wedding prep, and general nerves, my face has taken a hit. I look tired — not quite the look I’m after for the big day. I tell Dr Barbara that I want to look refreshed — and, dare I say it, bridal (whatever that means?).

She assesses my face and devises a three-part treatment plan based on what she sees (hurrah!). I feel completely at ease — every detail has been considered. We decide on the clinic’s signature facial to brighten and renew, Baby (emphasis on baby) Botox to soften the fine lines creeping across my forehead, and a touch of polynucleotides to restore volume beneath my tired eyes.

The Process

Signature Facial with Anna
This is a multi-step treatment that lasts for 90 minutes. The facial includes: Microdermabrasion for ultimate exfoliation, an Enzyme treatment for deep cleansing and removal of dead skin cells (a less stressful alternative to a chemical peel), a firming peptide mask for instant tightening, an Oxygenation treatment, a Plasma shower (great for absorption, tackling acne and promoting healing), 20 minutes under an LED lamp with a mask, and finally a beautiful finish of serums and SPFs.

Baby Botox with Dr Barbara
Baby Botox is administered quickly — tiny amounts are injected into more points than I’m used to. A cold compress is applied straight after, so I barely feel the needle at all.

Polynucleotides with Evita
Plinest Eye Polynucleotides are among the best available, and they’re the only ones the clinic uses. My under-eyes are numbed with cream for 30 minutes while I nap under a heated blanket (bliss), and then the injections begin — a small needle, multiple points. Not the most enjoyable part, but manageable, especially with Evita’s guidance. Tiny bumps appear where the product is injected, but disappear within 24 hours.

The Results

The Signature Facial blew me away. I left the clinic glowing like I’d just stepped off a TikTok shoot! For days — and even weeks — my skin had that “glass” finish, and I couldn’t stop staring at it (yes, I know how that sounds!).

The Botox was also spot-on. I returned two weeks later for a tiny tweak (one eyebrow has a mind of its own), but honestly, even without the adjustment, the precision of Dr Barbara’s work was impeccable. I’ll definitely be back when I next decide to invest in an anti-wrinkle treatment.

And the Polynucleotides — a game-changer. I’ve noticed my eyes becoming slightly more sunken over the years, but I’ve always steered clear of fillers. This was the perfect alternative. While multiple treatments are usually recommended for full results, for the small boost I needed, this was ideal.

I can’t overstate how safe and looked-after I felt at Clinicbe. The entire team is professional, lovely, and incredibly experienced, and Dr Barbara recommended treatments that were exactly right for me.

Safe to say, my face was one thing I didn’t have to worry about on my wedding day.
