The Process
My colourist Jade understood exactly what I wanted; soft, fine highlights using the lowest possible peroxide, to create a clean light blonde. She was super fast at applying the foils, and threaded the hair incredibly finely for a totally natural result.
My stylist Jamie was fantastic, he made my long highlighted hair look about five times thicker and healthier, whilst losing so little length you could barely tell it was shorter! He intuitively knew how to flatter my face with a totally blunt cut, blending in the broken shorter lengths around the face. I left with hair looking and feeling the best it had in years!
Jamie understood my very dry hair and introduced me to the best shampoo – actually, ‘cleansing conditioner’ – I’ve ever tried. KMS Cleansing Conditioner (sold in the salon) left my hair silky smooth, hydrated and nourished, whilst cleaning as well as any standard foaming shampoo! It’s rare that I don’t leave a salon feeling my hair’s been absolutely assaulted by the obligatory double shampoo, but after using Hare & Bone’s product it felt even better than when I wash it myself!
The Results
The colour grew out beautifully over the next few weeks, the tone was chosen so well that my roots blended in almost imperceptibly and the lengths still looked fresh and clean weeks later.
The cut took enough off that it still looks groomed and healthy, even after regular heat styling for the subsequent month, and the blow-dry lasted about 3 days. Jamie curled it using GHD’s new Oracle curler, which was a revelation as the hair only needed to be in contact with heat for a few seconds, unlike more traditional curling tongs, which require a good 20 seconds to achieve a curl that will hold through the night.
My hair remained soft and bouncy and totally retained its shape. Usually curls have fallen out by the next day leaving it looking straggly, tangled and flat. But no, with the Oracle they lasted for a good two days further.
