The Process:
Although I have no doubt that all of Yvonne’s therapists are excellent, I had requested Kat, Yvonne’s right-hand woman. From what I had heard at the school gates, Kat knows her pimples from her peels and insists that if you follow her skincare advice, your skin will dramatically improve. Having never really grown out of my teenage skin, I was keen to learn.
Many facialists claim to offer bespoke treatments but Kat’s 90-minute facial could only be described as prescriptive.
After her analysis under a light too bright to conceal any blemish, my face was transformed by her massage, masks, creams, steam and deep extraction.
She was not only an impressive facialist but also taught me how to clean my skin more effectively, massage my face at night and which foods I should avoid, based on my breakouts. Unlike many in her profession, she did not use any fancy machinery but worked her magic with her nimble hands.
The Result:
I am a convert. Correction: I am a glowing convert. I looked like I had been asleep for a long time after a bracing walk on Hampstead Heath. Kat was knowledgeable and persuasive; I bought the delicious organic cleanser she used: Blueberry Soy Exfoliating Cleanser from Eminence and promised myself to return before Christmas.
