The Clinic
Having already built a glowing reputation as the go-to guy for ‘the natural look’ in West London, Dr Harry has now expanded his practice to include this centrally located clinic in the heart of the city’s theatre district – perfect for any would-be patient not quite within easy reach of Chiswick.
A mere hop and skip from Covent Garden Tube Station, right on the main square, the new clinic sits so close to the Royal Opera House that it’s not unusual for the air to be filled with the sound of arias as performers warm up their vocal cords ahead of the evening’s show. It’s a suitably grand backdrop for a prestigious clinic.
Inside the grand exterior, the new space is white, clean and comfortingly clinical, with a novel view of the bustling market below.
Whether you’re exploring subtle skin rejuvenation, advanced cosmetic procedures, or expert skincare advice, the clinic focuses on achieving natural-looking results that enhance your appearance rather than change it. There’s always a warm welcome from the charming Dr Harry, who has an unwavering dedication to evidence-based care and has become a trusted destination for those seeking confidence-boosting treatments in one of London’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.
I visit him on a warm summer day in June for some subtle baby Botox.
The Consultation
Dr Harry is knowledgeable about aesthetics to the point of obsession. The combination of his traditional medical background with up-to-the-minute developments in the aesthetics and beauty world puts me immediately at ease – because no matter how many times you’ve had injectables, it’s impossible to forget that you’re trusting another human being with extremely sharp objects right next to your eyes.
I’ve been to see Harry before, so we catch up and keep the aesthetics preamble to a minimum. I tell him I’m keen to go for a very natural look this time, so natural that I don’t want anyone to notice I’ve had anything done. I want to look like I’ve been on a relaxing holiday, at most. The areas I’d like to treat are more than my first visit, which covered the standard forehead and eye combo. This time we’re going for under the eyes, the elevens on my forehead, plus the masseter and a lip flip.
Not only is Harry a fully-fledged doctor, but he’s also something of a pioneer, using ultrasound technology to track muscle size and strength so he can log his results over time. Before treating my masseter, he brings out his handheld ultrasound device, records a short video of my masseter tensed and relaxed, and takes some measurements.
The Process
Harry applies a thin coat of numbing cream to my upper lip ahead of the lip flip, “always the most sensitive part,” he remarks. Then gets to work with a light smattering of Botox around the under-eye area. Perhaps I have a high pain threshold, but I find the whole thing totally pain-free.
By the time he moves on to my lip, the numbing cream has done its job. And the masseter injection – which should hopefully ease my TMJ and chronic jaw pain – actually brings sweet relief on the spot. I’m convinced it’s something like an acupuncture effect.
The Results
When I revisit Dr Harry several weeks later for a check-in, he’s pleased to hear that I’m thrilled with the results. My forehead still has plenty of movement, which I love. Nothing frozen here.
My cupid’s bow has that slightly puckered look, even without filler, and my wrinkles are noticeably softened. My skin’s texture looks better, and my muscle tone feels more even overall. We decide to do a small top-up to the lip flip, which tends to wear off rather quickly because it’s such a small muscle that only requires a little Botox. We also top up the TMJ masseter muscles, which are at the other end of the spectrum, and require a lot of Botox, because they’re actually one of the strongest muscles in the body!
The next week, I feel completely refreshed all around, and it’s a great feeling heading into summer with this much confidence.
