The Salon
Smack Bang in the middle of the fashionable side of Kingston town centre, is the latest instalment from RUSH. It’s not the largest one I’ve ever visited – nestled away in the square to the right of Gails Bakery and to the left of a selection of fancy restaurants – but it is perfectly located, especially over winter, as it sits right opposite Kingston’s opulent Christmas markets.
I was lucky enough to visit last week for some half-head highlights. The entire team there were charming and put me right at ease from the moment I walked in. I was treated with a peppermint tea and a selection of high-end magazines whilst my hair was transformed by Aria, from a grown-out mess of dull shades of yellow into a vibrant, shiny and healthy blonde.
Aria even offered to tidy up my fringe free of charge! The last place I visited had cut it unevenly, and I got the distinct impression that this was more for him than it was for me – it’s good to know you’re in the hands of a perfectionist!
I then left RUSH Kingston feeling like a ’70s queen (due to my new curtain bangs) and wandered about the Christmas markets with the precise confidence of someone who had just had their hair totally revamped to perfection (for a very reasonable price).
