Hounslow Leisure Centres Announce National Fitness Day

CYCLE CHALLENGE WITH FREE VISITS FOR NON MEMBERS!

National Fitness Day, set to be the most active day of the year, takes place on Wednesday 22nd September and to help encourage the community to get active Lampton Leisure will be hosting a cycle challenge for members and non-members throughout the day.

The challenge will take place at Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre, Hanworth Air Park Leisure Centre and Library, Isleworth Leisure Centre and Library, Heston Pools & Fitness, New Chiswick Pool and Osterley Sports and Athletic Centre.

Each centre will race to complete the most cycling miles in a day and local residents are encouraged to come down, jump on a bike and help their local leisure centre win the challenge!

Non-members can register here for a free gym pass to get involved and get a feel for their local centre.

National Fitness Day will see people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities come together to celebrate the fun and benefits of physical activity in day to day life. 2021 is the 10th anniversary of the campaign, which has already helped millions of people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to find or rediscover a fitness activity they love.

The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘Fitness Unites Us’, as communities across the UK unite to recognise our common interest in fitness and the social and mental power of being active and the positive change it can make to people’s lives.

People can also get involved by posting photos or messages on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter in the build-up and during the week, by using the hashtag #Fitness2Me to share what fitness means to them – whether it be beating stress, improving wellbeing, making friends or achieving a target.

Alongside the cycling challenge, Lampton Leisure will also be running free sessions on their brand new BodiTrax machines throughout the day. The machines are designed to help track users’ fitness journeys by monitoring metrics including weight, segmental muscle and fat, total intra and extracellular fluids, skeletal and abdominal cavity analysis, metabolic efficiency, metabolic age and cellular performance. The machines will help new visitors to the centre set targets and plan their fitness targets and goals.

Rowland Omamor, Managing Director of Lampton Leisure said: “National Fitness Day is a great opportunity to get the community active, encourage our existing centre users to come together in a challenge and introduce new visitors to the facilities we have on offer. We’re really excited about our new Boditrax machines and hope that giving people free access to them for the day will encourage even more local residents to get active and stay healthy.”

To take part in the challenge simply visit your local Lampton Leisure centre on National Fitness Day on 22nd September and join in the fun!
