The Blurb
Tucked away on St Anne’s Court in Soho, KöD—Danish for “meat” —is where Nordic minimalism meets soulful hospitality, with a warm, multicultural team guiding the experience. During my visit, I was pregnant and thrilled to find a standout alcohol-free wine option—celebratory, refined, and truly inclusive.
The Food
We began with The KöD Experience, a precision tasting of premium cuts. Starters included creamy burrata with rosemary tomato, fiery garlic prawns, and zesty steak tartare. For the main course, we savoured A4-grade wagyu, fillet mignon, and striploin, each cooked impeccably and paired with warm, tableside sauces. The Madagascar peppercorn sauce provided the perfect punch, while the bearnaise offered buttery balance.
The Sunday Feast at KöD Soho (£27 per person) is a warm, communal affair designed to bring people together over an indulgent spread. The centrepiece is a 200g grass-fed rump steak, carefully sourced from Australia and the UK, and dry-aged for deep flavour. Alongside it come juicy, buffalo-style chicken wings—spicy, satisfying, and finger-licking good.
The feast is rounded out with a generous selection of seasonal sides, each with a Nordic twist. Highlights include the “burning love” mash—an indulgent blend of creamy potato whipped with wagyu fat, bacon, and a rich onion compote—and the corn ribs, which arrive glistening in umami-laden miso butter. The steak chips are dusted with cheese, thyme, and sea salt, offering a crisp and savoury counterpoint. Everything is tied together with a silky Madagascar pepper sauce, poured generously at the table.
It’s a platter that invites sharing, laughter, and the slow pleasures of Sunday indulgence—comforting, considered, and deeply satisfying. We rounded things off with a shared crème brûlée and raspberry sorbet—light, refined, and the perfect palate cleanser after a robust meal.
In a Nutshell
KöD Soho is more than a steakhouse—it’s an immersive experience. Between the world-class meat (A4 wagyu, rump steak, wings), warm multicultural hospitality, and thoughtful inclusivity (alcohol-free wine and menu walk-throughs), this place nourishes on every level. Whether you’re sampling the full Experience or indulging in the Sunday Feast, it’s a celebration of hearty food, meaningful detail, and stylish comfort.
