Celebrity hotspot, Cheyne Walk Brasserie owned by Sally Greene (entrepreneur and also owner of Ronnie Scotts) is nestled in the heart of beautiful Chelsea and is spoilt with charming riverside views. The petite but tres chic restaurant offers simple, yet luxurious French brasserie dishes and cocktails in a luxurious, modern setting. At the centre of the dining room is an open grill where much of the Provencal inspired menu is prepared and cooked to perfection, allowing diners to watch the skills of head chef Christophe Dittrich in action.
The brasserie will be hosting ongoing tastings, which will encompass champagne tastings and canapés, these take place upstairs in the brasserie’s Salon area, where guests will be invited to taste and indulge in a variety of delicious champagnes – including the popular Theinot Vintage and Thienot Cuvee Stanilas – and nibble on some bites that perfectly compliment the bubblier choice of tipple! The Champagne tasting evenings are from 7.30 – 8.30pm and costs £30 per person.
The brasserie also does a bloody good line in steaks downstairs, with a fantastic open kitchen bang in the middle of the dining room (above). I can’t think of anywhere better to spend a cosy winter’s evening holed up than in this stunning Georgian corner building, flooded with light from oil-burning street-lamps, just a stone’s throw from the river.
