Chakra Launch Ayurvedic Supperclub

Contemporary Indian restaurant Chakra are holding a one off, Ayurvedic supperclub, at their intimate Kensington restaurant with Guest Chef Saurav Nath, formerly of Benares and Gymkhana on 13th May.

Ayurveda is the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit, the supperclub’s menu will showcase the ethos of the traditional Ayurveda principles and all flavours will be in total harmony. Flavours will be light and refreshing flavours and Chef Nath has specifically chosen ingredients to help find balance. In Ayurveda, foods are composed of six tastes: sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent, and astringent…with health and flavour given equal prominence which has been incorporated into the menu.

Ayurvedic food has always been interpreted in a very traditional way but this supperclub will showcase the principles in a more contemporary way, with a keen eye on presentation and the use of fresh British ingredients.

A perfect blend of the 6 Ayurevdic tastes. Highlights include:

– Quinoa & Oat Khichari – a classic Ayurvedic dish

– Spiced cured avocado and Keralan pepper asparagus

– Sautéed okra in an onion masala, flavoured with ginger & coconut

– Steamed and baked yogurt cheese mousse with hibiscus and raspberry jelly and garnished with edible flowers
