Cafe Linea, a new neighbourhood restaurant, bar and bakery, is set to open early summer in the Grade-II listed 19th century arcade overlooking Duke of York Square, offering all-day dining in the heart of Chelsea. Inspired by the cafés and bistros set in historic arcades across Europe, Cafe Linea will serve produce-led, modern classics and elevated comfort food. In addition to à la carte dining, guests will enjoy freshly baked morning pastries to accompany artisan coffee, inventive bar snacks alongside evening drinks, and an exciting range of miniature cakes and patisserie, all produced by the onsite bakery and pastry kitchen.
Founded by husband-and-wife duo Greg and Felicity Godik, Cafe Linea reimagines the classic arcade dining experience. Situated next to London’s famous Saatchi Gallery, Cafe Linea’s interiors have been designed by Dion & Arles, the team involved in venues such as Chiltern Firehouse, Dovetale, and The Standard, London. The space will blend historic features, including vaulted ceilings and arched alcoves, with a modern, yet warm and timeless aesthetic. During the day, natural light will flood through arched windows, while in the evening, the space will transform into a romantic, candle-lit spot for aperitifs or leisurely dinners. The large terrace, a serene and tucked away oasis with unmatched views onto Duke of York Square just moments from the bustle of the King’s Road, will provide the perfect space for alfresco dining and drinking in Chelsea.
At the heart of Cafe Linea is its focus on produce-led menus and seasonality. The morning offering will include fresh, homemade bread and a changing selection of artisanal pastries from the bakery, including savoury allumettes, filled with ham, cheese and miso, and banoffee bostocks with banana cream, alongside a fuller breakfast and brunch menu. Later in the day, guests will enjoy an all-day à la carte offering, featuring dishes such as ricotta dumplings with mushrooms and a sharing curried chicken pie alongside snacks, savouries and sweets from the bakery. Chef Partner Carolina Ferpozzi, originally from Argentina, brings her experience from working alongside respected South American chefs Fernando Trocca and Narda Lepes, to create menus that reflect seasonality and a fresh take on classic dishes. Joining the team is General Manager and Partner Steven Mason, previously of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and the three Michelin-starred Odette in Singapore.
Cafe Linea’s drinks offering will include a dynamic wine list specialising in small, innovative old-world producers, including an impressive range of sparkling and sweet wines designed to complement the bakery offerings. The menu will also feature signature cocktails, alongside lighter aperitifs and after-dinner digestifs.
Set to become a neighbourhood favourite, Cafe Linea will provide something for every moment of the day. Whether stopping in for a morning coffee and pastry, enjoying a relaxed breakfast or business lunch, unwinding with post-work drinks, or settling in for a memorable dinner, Cafe Linea promises to be an exciting addition to Chelsea’s burgeoning restaurant scene.
