A foodie summer of sport

You may not be in Rio, but there are all number of foodie goings-on in our own (somewhat more temperamentally) sunny London in honour of this summer’s Olympics, from burgers with toppings inspired by the world’s continents to sports screenings and limited edition cocktails. So you don’t have to travel too far from home to still enjoy the spirit of the Games!

A summer of sport at Tom’s Kitchen

To celebrate the upcoming summer of fantastic sporting events, the Tom’s Kitchen restaurants across London have created a range of packages that will give guests the perfect setting to watch the Olympics this year. The restaurants in Chelsea, Canary Wharf and St Katharine Docks all have private spaces available in which guests can enjoy exclusive screenings, and the team have also created a range of delicious food and drink packages to be shared with friends, family and colleagues.

Sponsored by the Whitstable Bay Brewery, guests can enjoy a set menu that includes two glasses of house wine or Whitstable Bay Blonde Lager, accompanied by eight substantial canapes each (£25pp), or two glasses of house wine or Whitstable Bay Blonde Lager, four pre-dinner canapes and a three-course set menu (£50pp). All major events will also be screened live in the Canary Wharf bar.

Olympic cocktails at Plateau

Plateau will be serving Olympic-inspired cocktails from Friday 5 to Sunday 21 August, from their jaw-dropping location atop Canada Place opposite One Canada Square tower, with its stunning views. The menu includes Cana de Acucar (Sugar Cane) with Cachaca, Limoncello, pineapple, lime juice, sugar syrup, Angostura Bitters, fresh raspberry, fresh blackberry and mint; or Vencedora (Winner) with Bacardi Superior, passionfruit juice, coconut syrup, lime juice and passionfruit puree.

Olympic Burger Menu at The Distillery

To celebrate the 2016 Summer Olympics, The Distillery will be serving their famous Wagyu burger with a selection of toppings, each inspired by the cuisines of the world’s continents. Highlights include Australasia’s burger—a classic Australian “Carpet bagger” topped with crumbed oysters and parsley—and the Africa burger, which features the spiced fruits of Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana in its chilli-spiked pineapple and fried plantain salsa.

Available every day from midday to 7pm, the burgers will be served with fries, The Distillery’s signature red cabbage & cucumber slaw and their very own craft beer for only £12.
