Where to Spot Celebrities In and Around West London

As one of the world’s most glamorous cities, London often attracts an extensive list of A-listers. Many of the world’s biggest names spend time in the English capital and although they may live elsewhere, with some owning properties in and around London where they like to stay when they need to be in the big city.

West London is considered by many to be the most glamorous region of the capital, with highly sought-after property. With this in mind, it should come as no surprise that celebrity hotspots are littered throughout the area and close by. Below we will take a look at some of these places in and around West London where you can spot celebrities.

Metropolitan Casino Mayfair

Mayfair is well known for its fancy casinos. In recent years, some of the land based venues in the area have faced stiff competition as more people are using online casinos, which can offer incentives to players such as first deposit bonuses and a huge selection of games. However, they do lack the atmosphere and experience that is offered by the luxury establishments littered around Mayfair. These casinos are still a favoured haunt of London celebrities and are a great place to spot celebs in the city.

A perfect example of this is the recently opened Metropolitan Casino in Mayfair. The Metropolitan is London’s newest luxury casino and has already started attracting celebrities. The opening night saw Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, and Kirsty Gallacher in attendance, as well as former England Rugby Captain Chris Robshaw. The Metropolitan is continuing to grow in popularity and if you are lucky, you might spot some of the world’s most famous stars enjoying a game of roulette or blackjack when you visit the casino.

Shaftesbury Avenue

One of the main attractions to London’s West End is Shaftesbury Avenue and its wide variety of theatres. Here, some of the world’s finest performers and actors take to the stage in shows that attract audiences from all over the UK and beyond. The biggest names in the world will often feature in the hit shows and musicals, with long runs in some of the grandest and most majestic theatres stretching down this road.

It is nearly guaranteed that you will spot a celebrity in the audience or up on the stage somewhere along Shaftesbury Avenue. The buzz of a weekend show at the West End is a marvellous spectacle and an experience that celebrities as well as other theatre loving folk make a regular part of their social calendar.

Notting Hill

As the epicentre of a smash hit that Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant starred in in the late 1990s, Notting Hill is a popular destination for those looking to live in London. However, this is not the only reason that people come to this area of London.

Whether it is the Notting Hill Carnival, the beautiful architecture or the sights and sounds of Portobello Road, Notting Hill is a destination that attracts the wealthier side of London, including celebrities. There’s no shortage of high-class bars in West London but Notting Hill has them in abundance.

You’ll find that many celebrities who live in the district of Notting Hill will attend shows, restaurants and bars scattered throughout the area. It is home to stars such as Damon Albarn, Robbie Williams, and Claudia Schiffer. If you find yourself strolling around this area of West London, don’t be surprised if you see a few of these familiar faces knocking around.

Another area located in the West End, Soho is renowned for its sparkling nightlife and fantastic restaurants. Soho is an abbreviation for “South of Houston Street” and is one of the most vibrant LGBTQ areas in the UK. Plenty of celebrities living in London will often walk down this street on a night out and be amongst the vibrant and exciting nightlife on display.

There is an abundance of late-night bars that celebrities like to attend. The Box Club in Soho is well known for playing host to stars like Emma Watson and Keira Knightley, as well as royals like Prince Harry and his cousins Beatrice and Eugenie! It is also home to the original “Soho House” on Greek street, which opened in 1995 and spawned the well-known chain of luxurious hotels where celebrities usually stay.

Although London is generally a hotbed for celeb-spotting, the areas in and around West London take the crown for having the highest concentration of A-listers. Given the glamour, the expensive shops and the dozens of high-quality entertainment venues, this area of London has carried this reputation for decades and is unlikely to lose it anytime soon. Moreover, with boroughs such as Kensington and Chelsea, this will only help to further cement this claim for years to come.
