London has some incredible restaurants. Some people will say they’re too expensive, but it depends on where you go and the type of experience you want. In our opinion, some of the best restaurant experiences are the themed restaurants. London has plenty of them, so let us tell you about some of the best.
Tiroler Hut
Location: 27 Westbourne Grove, Bayswater, W2 4UA
Average Price: £40–£50 per person
Opening Times: Tue-Sun: 5 PM–11 PM
Tiroler Hut serves some of the best Austrian cuisine. You’ve got traditional fondue, schnapps, and wursts, but this restaurant is known for its live cowbell shows and authentic accordionists. You’ll be mesmerised by the hospitable chef in his lederhosen, and the whole decor, especially the peculiar rickety staircase. It’s definitely a place to go with friends and have fun.
Gremio de Brixton
Location: The Crypt, St. Matthew’s Church, Brixton, SW2 1JF
Average Price: £30–£40 per person
Opening Times: Tue-Sat: 5 PM–12 AM
On St. Matthews Church, Gremio de Brixton stands out with its Spanish and incredible menu. With its great, exquisite lamps hanging in the floor’s cabriolet ceilings, and dark light, the place has a rustic decor that accessorises the intimate but elegant feel. Dine on jamón croquetas and suckling pig while enjoying onsite flamenco bands or a DJ.
Toca Social
Location: Peninsula Square, London, SE10 0DX
Average Price: £20-30 per person (bar menu)
Opening Times: Mon-Wed: 11 AM–11 PM, Thu-Sat: 11 AM–1 AM, Sun: 11 AM–10 PM
Toca Social is situated in The O2 in Greenwich and combines excellent food and gaming – it’s ideal for football fans. Its focus is on interactive gaming cabins. These cabins have state-of-the-art football activities that let players try various games, like precise shots and goal scoring.
If gaming isn’t for you, live sports will do just fine. Oh, and the food here is really nice bar-style food!
It’s not a place to go for a sit-down meal, but it is for fun.
Dans Le Noir?
Location: 30-31 Clerkenwell Green, EC1R 0DU
Average Price: £60–£70 per person (set menu)
Opening Times: Mon-Sun: 6 PM–10:30 PM
For the unexpected, different, out-of-the-ordinary activity, there is Dans Le Noir. Expect darkness, literally. The concept challenges every dining experience because there is a mystery menu that changes over the seasons.
Staff members will guide you, the one who can’t see, giving you the opportunity to experience taste and texture in a new light – or should we say, no light. The experience is meant for food lovers open to trying anything or wanting to have a different kind of dining experience.
If you like the idea of dining in the dark, this one’s for you.
Bustronome
Location: Coach Bay 40B, Victoria Embankment, WC2N 6PB
Average Price: £75–£120 per person (depending on the experience)
Opening Times: Daily: 12 PM–10 PM
The Bustronome experience is extraordinary.
This double-decker bus has been designed in a way that compliments all types of culinary dishes served, especially when served on weekly tours across London.
With the rolls, scoff roast duck breast, served with various sides, including plum sauce and passion fruit cut in half and its pulp blended into a creamy dessert. It’s perfect for celebratory moments and special occasions.
Bustronome stops at four locations, so while getting served, you’re most likely always enjoying a different beautiful London view with each dish being truly special.
London’s restaurants have a whole vibe. With a fresh culinary experience behind most doors, you’re almost always guaranteed to have an incredible time. Next time you feel like going outside and grabbing a bite, consider making a reservation at one of the best-themed restaurants we’ve mentioned.
