The Tropical Floral Print

Born in West London on the stalls of Portobello Road and Camden market, Traffic People is now a brand sold worldwide. Known for their elegant and wearable pieces that add a touch of 20s and 30s glamour to your wardrobe, if it’s not a brand you already know then this is the summer to discover them.

For my upcoming holiday I’m filling my suitcase with bold tropical prints and exotic mixes of colour, a trend that Traffic People’s SS15 collection is bursting with. Prom style skirts, high-waist shorts and flowing maxis are just a few examples of floral-clad clothing to experiment with, even if you’re not leaving the city.

In the height of summer when the heat can become sticky it’s important to have loose clothing to keep you cool. A maxi skirt or floor length dress is always a good choice here, and I’m obsessed with this Jungle Fever—Surprise Me dress. The coral and lime tones mixed with a blend of animal prints is a fantastic piece to take you from beach to bar. A really easy outfit to throw on and the low-neck line and tie around the waist will accentuate your curves, or at least give the illusion of them!

If your legs are your favourite feature, get them on show! A lovely loose cover-up, the Hawaiian Leopard dress is a fab casual one to wear by the pool or could be dolled up with nude heels and gold statement jewellery for a night on the town.

For a really sexy, sophisticated summer number, the Aloha Aina Halter dress is an absolute must! The feminine shape with a full skirt and nipped in waist may seem a little conservative due to the high neckline, but with a cheeky cleavage cutout and bold print it’s a serious head turner.

An any-occasion print to add to your summer wardrobe is Love Foreign Climate. Playful blues and pale pinks mix together to create this feminine floral design. The high waist Circle Skirt is a demure knee length that could be funked up with a cropped tee and bohemian headband, or worn with a tucked in blouse and heels for an elegant evening out.
