Josephinenhütte’s story goes back to 2019 when Kurt Josef Zalto and his team took inspiration from a historical glasswork with the same name. This glassworks was known for its top-notch glassware in the 19th and 20th centuries, and that’s where they found their muse. Kurt Josef Zalto’s mission was to create a new kind of glassware that would bring out the unique characteristics of each wine, a real homage to winemakers.
This journey resulted in four unique glasses. These glasses are meticulously handcrafted, and mouth-blown to be incredibly thin yet durable. They have a distinctive bend in the bowl, which speeds up the aeration process when you give them a swirl. The design also allows for more precise swirling, and the ultra-thin rim gives you better control over the amount of wine you sip. A standout in this collection is the Josephine No 3 Red, designed to brilliantly showcase both Burgundy and Bordeaux wines in a single glass.
