Beauty Pie: the membership club that everyone is talking about

Beauty Pie are making waves in the industry via consumers and bloggers alike, with their no-fuss, high-quality products that you can get (with a tailored membership) for just a fraction of what they’d cost elsewhere. Everything – from the fancy website, to the simple yet stylish packaging, to the gorgeous millennial pink box – seems to have been designed to make me feel like I’m part of an exclusive club. However, the important part is what’s inside and, naturally, I was curious to see what all the hype was about. So, without further ado…

JAPANFUSION PURE TRANSFORMING CLEANSER, £25 (members pay £6.91)

Superlight. Perfectly effective. Delicately technical. And really cool to use.
Japanese skincare was ‘all grown up’ already by the time Korea started grabbing the limelight. This beautiful antioxidant-infused high-tech gel-to-oil-to-milk cleansing balm demonstrates that mastery. Massage it on every night to tracelessly remove makeup, oils, and pollution. For radiant, perfectly balanced skin, it’s a supreme clean.

The verdict

I was very excited to try this cleanser, especially after people like Sally Hughes have raved about it. In spite of my raised expectations, I was not disappointed. It feels so light and is incredibly gentle on your skin. It goes on as a cream but breaks down when applied to the face, effortlessly removing makeup and dirt. I used it with a hot cloth, which worked perfectly. It is genuinely one of the best cleansers that I’ve tried in a long time, and I will definitely be coming back for this.

SUPER RETINOL (+ VITAMIN C) NIGHT RENEWAL MOISTURISER, £75 (members par £11.74)

This superstar Swiss overnight formula has everything anti-aging in it: encapsulated retinol (for resurfacing), ficucell vita (an antioxidant), shea butter (for nourishing), vitamins E and C (for elasticity+), ferulic and hyaluronic acid (plumping, hydrating), it’s super-smoothing, fine-line and wrinkle tackling, brightening, and we think this is possibly THE best retinol night moisturiser ever.

The verdict

My goodness, isn’t everyone just loving retinol and vitamin C at the moment? I was unsure what to expect here, as a lot of brands are creating products with these buzz word ingredients, but the quality can be mixed. However, the carefully curated combination of these premium ingredients together in a night moisturiser is another hit for me. The retinol didn’t irritate my skin at all and, combined with the vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, left my morning skin feeling plump and firm. Tip: Remember to wash off retinol in the morning, and wear sunscreen!

QI ENERGY GINSENG MICELLAR CLEANSER, £25 (members pay £9.51)

Ideal for all skin types when in need of a quick, moisturising, one-wipe cleanse. (Not meant for mascara or eyeliner removal – deep cleaning surfactants can cause eyes to sting.) Use this when you’re too exhausted for a traditional double cleanse. Remove your face makeup with one cleanser-soaked cotton pad and use another to clean deeper. Formulated in Switzerland with organic Cornflower Water, energising Ginseng and Ginger Root Extracts and humectant Hyaluronic Acid. Note: This is not your basic drugstore micellar water – it’s also calming, a tonic, and ultra-hydrating.

The verdict

This might be my personal favourite, as with so many days spent working from home and not wearing makeup I’ve been hankering for a light cleanser to refresh my face in the morning and evening. It is, as they say, excellent for double cleansing after makeup, so I’ll continue to use it when London opens up again. My face genuinely feels so fresh and hydrated after this; it’s like a breath of fresh air!

BERGAMOT & WILD BASIL LUXURY SCENTED CANDLE, £50 (£16.80 for members)

Each blend is intricate, addictive and unbelievably luxe. Essential oils of Sweet Lime, Bergamot, Grapefruit and Verbena, over White Flowers, Iris and Wild Basil, with a powdery Patchouli Moss base. Citrus. Sparkling. Spectacular.

The verdict

There is rumour going round that a lot of Beauty Pie products can be bought as dupes of more expensive brands, and I was interested to try their candles to see if I could make any comparisons, but – in the best way possible – I couldn’t. This candle has a uniquely fresh and clean smell, and the design is superbly stylish. The scents blend nicely together; long lasting but not overwhelming. It would make a lovely gift for an upcoming birthday, and it wont break the bank.

BIOMEGA 3™ PURE HIGH-DOSE WILD FISH OIL SOFTGEL CAPSULES, £40 (members pay £14.01)

BiOmega-3 delivers high-strength, purity, freshness and quality-assured Omega-3 Fatty Acids – featuring EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) from wild Peruvian and sustainably caught sardines, mackerel and anchovies.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids play a central role in health with DHA contributing to the normal function of the brain and normal vision¹ and when combined with EPA, help keep your heart functioning normally². These Omega 3 fats are also a great choice during pregnancy and breastfeeding, to help the normal development of the brain and eye in the foetus and breast-fed infants³. For more information on why you may want to supplement your Omega-3 intake, read their BiOmega 3’s blog.

The verdict

Beauty Pie have a new range of supplements, which are quality tested and made with fresh ingredients. Instead of traipsing through Google searches, you’re provided with a blog that has all the information you need to understand what the supplements actually do. I’ve been taking Omega 3 in some form for many years, but after watching Seaspiracy (yikes!) I’ve become concerned about the quality of what I’m consuming. Luckily, these fish oil capsules are rigorously tested to make sure they’re free from plastics, PCBs, heavy metals and oxidation. Hurray!
